About L. Yancey Shuman

Yancey has more than thirty years experience as a physician’s assistant. He attended the University of Georgia for his undergraduate studies, then graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in the Physician Assistant program from the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta.

He went on to earn his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska. Yancey has served as a physician assistant in the USAir Force Reserves in South Carolina and Colorado and worked with several orthopedic practices before joining Athens Orthopedic Clinic. He works with Dr. John Dorris, specializing in sports medicine and total joints.

In his time away from Athens Orthopedic Clinic, Yancey enjoys spending time with his wife and three boys, all avid Dawg fans. He also enjoys playing golf, snowboarding and scuba diving.
