About Heather Slonaker, PT, DPT, ATP, CKTP, VRT
Heather has experience working with patients of all ages with complex musculoskeletal diagnoses. As a high school and collegiate athlete, she experienced rehabilitative medicine first-hand through multiple injuries and surgeries.
Heather came to Athens, GA after working in Tampa, FL with high school, collegiate, and professional sports teams around the Tampa Metro area in orthopedic and sports rehabilitation.
She specializes in working with people and athletes with pathology of the spine, shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle, as well as, specializing in the diagnosis and rehabilitation of concussion and post-concussion syndrome. Heather is able to perform sports clearance after injury, and she is able to perform return to sport clearance after a concussion. Although, Heather works with all athletes, she is sought after in working with gymnasts and returning this group of athletes back to competition.

Heather continues to treat people with all orthopedic conditions across the lifespan. She continues her role at Athens Orthopedic Clinic as a clinician and as a clinical excellence coordinator. She also acts as a Clinical Instructor for the University of Georgia’s Athletic Training Program. She has a true passion for helping patients recover and develop a better quality of life and strives to create a caring and fun environment.
Heather loves to spend her spare time outdoors, traveling, exercising, and being with her family and friends.
