About Colin Sutton, PT, MPT

Colin joined the Athens Orthopedic Clinic team in November 2015. He has worked exclusively in outpatient orthopedics and sports therapy since graduating from the Medical College of Georgia in 2004.

Colin Sutton is a highly experienced and dedicated Physical Therapist with a proven track record and reputation of working with athletes at every level, from youth sports to the elite professional; including those involved in major league, minor league and collegiate baseball. As the Clinic Director at Athens Orthopedic Clinic’s Sports Therapy location, Colin leads a multidisciplinary team, managing both clinical operations and providing specialized care for athletes, weekend warriors and everyone in between as they recover from orthopedic injuries and surgeries.

With a passion for rehabilitation and sports performance, Colin has built a reputation for expertly treating complex musculoskeletal conditions, with a particular focus on the shoulder, elbow, and knee. Colin has gained decades of valuable experience since graduating from the Medical College of Georgia in 2004. He is deeply committed to ensuring the highest level of care and is known for developing personalized treatment plans that prioritize the client’s return to peak performance.

Colin is recognized by local orthopedic surgeons and by collegiate sports medicine staff for his expertise in return-to-play testing; a crucial component for athletes coming back from surgery. This includes comprehensive assessments that measure strength, agility, endurance, and movement mechanics, ensuring athletes are ready to perform at their highest level while minimizing the risk of re-injury.

Outside of Athens Orthopedic Clinic, Colin thrives on time with his wife and three children. Colin loves to travel and vacation with his family. Colin is also passionate about coaching youth sports including baseball, softball, lacrosse and basketball. He considers it a privilege to share knowledge of sports performance and injury prevention as he coaches, though his true joy is being able to share his faith with his athletes.
